The European Poker Awards Panel have now shortlisted 5 nominees for the Best Overseas Player Award for season 4 of the EPT, with the winner being announced at the soon to be held PokerStars.com EPT Poker Awards Ceremony at the Casino Barcelona on the Spanish coastal city.  It follows the announcement of the nominees for the Best Newcomer and Best Performance Awards.  The overseas category is for non-European players.

A recently released autobiography by former Glasgow Celtic striker Frank McGarvey has revealed the one time Liverpool player was a gambling addict.

The former Scotland international explains in his book entitled ‘Totally Frank’ that he lost his home, marriage and self-respect during his lowest ebb.

The BBC Panorama programme believes phone calls between Miles Rodgers and jockey Fergal Lynch revealed evidence they conspired to affect the outcome of a horse race.

Panorama claims Mr. Rodgers had been unfairly profiting from “inside information” through lay betting, where punters bet on which horses will lose.

Horseracing authorities say they will be examining the new information.
